I start with a small prototype, at no cost to you. It shows how the site could look and how it speaks to your customers, so you decide from something you have seen and not from a description.

Nothing is paid and nothing has to be decided. If it is not right for you I thank you for your time and that is the end of it.

What I need from you
Your company name and the address of your current site if you have one. That is enough to start. If you want to carry on, you get a fixed price for the whole site before I begin on it.

Your business, not a template
A restaurant, a cafe, an architecture practice, a contractor, a guesthouse, a shop, or a trade nobody has built a site for yet. At heart the job is always the same: say clearly what you do and make the next step easy. I start by learning how the business actually runs and design from that, so an unusual business is not an obstacle. It is the very reason the site is designed from scratch.

An online shop from scratch
I set the shop up on WooCommerce or Shopify, connect the products, payments and shipping, and design it so it looks like your company rather than like whichever theme was picked.

A shop that has become a tangle
If you already sell online but the setup has become a tangle, I move the shop onto a site that is properly organised: products where they belong, prices that add up, and an overview you can read yourself without phoning anyone.

Visitors should be able to read, call, enquire and book from their phones. I test the layout and key actions on small and large screens before handover.

Hosting, domain and SSL certificate
I connect your domain and set up secure hosting. Hosting with me is a monthly service from 4.900 kr ex VAT; domain fees and anything else in scope are set out in your quote.

What a modern website involves
The word gets used about every site, which is why it says nothing. Here is what I mean by it, and every item on this list can be measured on your site today.

Content arrives with the page
Essential content arrives with the page when it is fetched. Visitors and crawlers do not have to wait for a script to display services, prices or opening hours.

Speed is measured, not just promised
Images are cut to the sizes actually used, fonts are preloaded, and no third-party script ships unless it earns its place. The difference shows up in measurements anyone can run.

Structured data on every page
Business and service information is marked up in a standard format search engines can read. The markup reflects the visible content and supports a clear description of your offer.

Icelandic and English on their own URLs
Each language gets its own crawlable address, not a button that swaps the text on one page. A page with a language button cannot appear separately in English search. Two URLs can.

This is what people ask on a first call. The answers are the same here as on the phone.
What is in the free prototype?
A small prototype of your home page, designed for your company and shown to you before you pay anything. It is a sample and not a finished site, and it does not commit you. If you want to carry on, you get a fixed price for the whole site before I begin on it.
How long does it take?
A finished website usually takes three to six weeks, depending on scope and workload. Larger custom projects can take longer. We agree the delivery schedule before work starts.
Do I own the site and the domain?
Yes, both, from day one and after the arrangement ends. The domain is registered to your company and the site is yours. Hosting is a separate thing: it is a service I run monthly while the site lives with me. You own the site, but it has to sit on somebody’s server. If you want to go elsewhere, everything is handed over and you can set it up there.
What do you need from me?
Information about the business, photos and a logo if you have them, and one contact who can confirm facts and make decisions. I write and edit all copy unless we agree otherwise.
I have an old website. Do I have to start over?
Rarely all of it. I read the old site first: which pages get visits, which copy holds up and which URLs already exist in Google. What is good stays, and the old addresses are redirected to the new ones so you do not lose what the site had earned.
Can I change the site myself afterwards?
Yes, from the Growth plan (19.900 kr a month) or if the site is on the Larger site package. There you change text, photos, prices, opening hours and add pages yourself, without being able to disturb the design. A change is a draft until you publish it. Content editing does not come with the Base plan, so get in touch if you want it added.
Can I skip the monthly fee?
You can buy the website and choose another host. If I host and maintain it, a monthly plan costs from 4.900 kr ex VAT. The site needs hosting somewhere, but you are free to choose the provider.
What happens if I want to stop?
You cancel, and since hosting is part of the monthly plan the site stops being served by me. I hand over the domain, the content and the site itself so you can put it up elsewhere or have somebody else do it. No commitment period, no exit fee, and you lose nothing. I would rather people stayed because the service is worth it than because they cannot get out.
